Just a game

It's not depressing that my football team did not make the playoffs. What's depressing is that some of the kids being drafted and signing multi-million dollar contracts this year on were born in 1989.

Personally I've given up watching a lot of professional sports and think the whole system is skewed. When athletes are paid millions of dollars a year to play a game, and professional teachers, doctors, researchers, nurses and others who better the world and change people's lives seem like an afterthought.

Preachin' to the choir, darlin'. I don't think anyone can disagree with you that too many professionals are not paid what they are worth. For that matter, neither are CNAs or PCAs.

On a side note: I don't do many sports either with the exception of a few select football teams that I follow (the Saints, LSU, Ole Miss, and Auburn) and rudgy. But the fact that some of the players are now younger than me is a tiny bit disheartening.

Only some players are younger than you, I have trouble saying that any more. Brett Farve don't retire.

Hahahaha, that is too funny. Go Vikings and Brett Farve, unfortunately Brett will probably have his to be carried off the field because he just won't retire already. NPO you're not old, you're in your prime!

ALL athletes are at least 15 years younger than me. :(

It is depressing. I was just noticing how the hockey players look like pre-teens.

I agree with you about the athletes being paid more than those who actually contribute to society. It is skewed. It has always been a sore spot with me.
